Eliza Carthy based links
- The official site, this is maintained by Warner Bros. and will continue to exist - whether it will be updated or not is a different matter though ... Note: this site is currently down.
- webcast of Eliza Carthy Band. This is from the Kennedy Centre, 2001 in DC. Search for 'May 2001', theres a full realplayer gig of the EC band and of Waterson:Carthy!
- Reinhard Zierke's site (formally Garry Gillards). A VERY comprehensive site, with loads of info regarding past and future projects. Garry also has a site for the Watersons & Waterson:Carthy (see below)
- BBC Radio 2's entry on Liza. Not bad, links to the official site, biography. Nice site, main feature is the tour section & the fact that it's regularly updated!
- Assorted interviews. Rather than try to tell you what to read, you're better off searching for your own ... these keep appearing all over the place, so I suggest you follow the link to Google.com and go from there. The recent one from Folking.com is pretty cool - answering a load of questions that you never knew you needed to know. Possibly.
- Topic Records. The main place for buying and finding out about other stuff coming up. Quite a nice site, that's regularly updated.
- John Haxby. John's the guy that designed the Red Rice, Anglicana, Blue Murder, Bright Shiny Morning and The Very Thought of You albums. He's got a rather cool 'virtual' homepage where you can see his other stuff, from Tarras to E2K to Papa & Mama Carthy. Go check it out!
Family based links
- The official family website, maintained by me and Steve Sheldon. THE place to go for copies of the family newsletter, tour dates, family news, gossip, vicious rumour and loads of stuff to download. We've got a reasonably full discography too!
- Reinhards Watersons site, very nice, comprehensive, full of stuff! Also, see his Martin Carthy site.
- BBC Radio 2 Waterson:Carthy site. Couple of tracks for streaming, nice biography.
Other stuff definatly worth a look
- Heather Macleod - Heather's own site, promoting her services as a musician and all-round good egg. Go have a look-see what she's up to.
- DogRose - the Morris guys who toured with W:C on the English Roots tour in late 2002, who 'Liza loves to bits. There's one on the right - click the piccy for a bigger one.
- Rakes Progress. A site that's mostly aimed at newcomers to British folk music. The idea is to create a single location where people can log on and find out about the famous names from the Revival and where the music’s going now. Go visit!
- Peatbog Faeries temporary site - it links to most useful places though - tours, CDs, reviews etc.
- Shooglenifty's gorgeous site - loads of stuff here, the latest CD, swag to get your mitts on, mp3s etc. Very nice, very shoogle.
- La Boum! - the other home of Ben & Heather, and a load of their mates. Some cool scottish tunes, merging with strong African influences.
- The Chipolatas, loads of pictures, stuff on the CD, gig dates etc. Takes a while to load, but nice when you get there.
- Soeza -Barn Stradling's alter-ego band are still very much alive and kicking. As Barn says, "Our second album, 'Why Do You Do?' came out this year on Nottingham-based label, Gringo Records, and there's a page about us with reviews etc. on their website ". Barn has played bass guitar for Eliza for a good many years, and still is active out there with Soeza.
- Nancy Kerr & James Fagan's home. Featuring a picture of Nancy with scary big red hair. Reviews, streaming audio, tour dates etc.
- The Oysterband and their website. Loads of stuff, mail-ordering, regularly updated gig list, piccy galley, downloads, biographys, and all that schebang.
- DanSaul, the home for Dan Plews, Saul Rose, and a few of their mates - CD available for downloads IN IT'S ENTIRITY! (as mp3).
- Joan Baez's site, Cd info, tour dates, latest gossip and all that. Details of an album that she and Eliza guested on too : Roger McGuinn's new CD, Treasures From the Folk Den.
